Privacy Policy

Account information.

When you sign up, we collect your email address and the credentials used to authenticate you. Sign-in and account security are handled by our authentication provider (Supabase).

Profile information.

Your display name, handle, avatar image, bio, region, and the streaming services you select.

Content and activity.

The things you create and do in the app — recommendations, comments, reactions, heads-up tags, watch parties, your "My Stuff" collection, friend connections, and reports or blocks you submit.

Notifications.

If you enable push notifications, we store the push subscription token needed to deliver them to your device.

Technical data.

Basic information generated when you use the Service, such as log and device data used to keep the Service running and secure.

• To operate and provide the Service — for example, showing your recommendations and activity to the friends you're connected with.
• To send you notifications and account-related emails (such as welcome and friend-request messages).
• To keep the Service safe — reviewing reports, enforcing our Terms and Community Guidelines, and preventing abuse.
• To maintain, debug, and improve the Service.

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run Reel Friends. They process data on our behalf:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
• Vercel — application hosting and delivery.
• Resend — sending transactional email.
• The Movie Database (TMDB) — movie and TV information and images. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

Your profile and the content you post are visible within the Service according to how the app works — for example, your activity is shown to friends you've connected with. We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing support@reelfriends.tv, and we'll remove it within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain certain records.

Reel Friends is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

You can review and update your profile information in the app, manage your blocks under Blocked accounts, turn push notifications on or off, and request account deletion at any time.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
